CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP – MUSKOKA 2007
September 13-15
As always, participants competed in a city other than the ones which hosted a regional event. This year, the participants were presented with a Rally style Championship that started with an outstanding challenge at the Toronto Fire Fighter Special Operations facility and took them to the townships of Collinwood, Wasaga, Lake of Bays, Burk’s Falls and eventually to the finish line in Huntsville.
Muskoka here we come!
Known for its endless blue lakes, countless islands and stretches of sandy beaches, Muskoka, Ontario is the perfect setting for a pleasurable escape. Seven teams representing major Canadian cities, had the opportunity to experience it in a very non-traditional way in September. Over nearly 40 hours of non-stop adventures, these participants braved the flames of an car fire, completed a 350 foot zip line, convinces total strangers to jump rope, forged a City Chase branding iron, rappelled from 130 feet at Fish Lake, fended off 60,000 bees, recreated a Group of Seven painting, built and sold a Soap Box Racer, and resurrected the art of bathtub boating, and much more.
In the end, Team Regina was the first team to cross the finish line (minutes ahead of Team Toronto) at Huntsville’s Town Hall Square, earning the title of City Chase Canadian Champions, a pair of All-New 2008 Mitsubishi Lancers, and the right to represent Canada at the World Championship in Rome, Italy.
