EDMONTON EVENT DETAILS A HUGE Thank You to the Chasers who took part in The Mitsubishi City Chase Powered by BlackBerry in Edmonton on May 29th! YOU "ROCKED" ... GAVE IT 100% AND SET THE BAR VERY HIGH FOR THE REST OF THE SERIES! Not only did you survive a monsoon and a snow storm while the rest of the country tanned in 30 degree weather, but ...You Chased your hearts out! A record breaking 450 teams participated in the event this past weekend and soldiered it out - showing the rest of Canada "NOT TO MESS" with Edmontonians! Congratulations to Elite Runner Krissy Dooling and Olympic Triathlete Paul Tichelaar who were declared The 2010 Mitsubishi City Chase Powered by BlackBerry Champions! We`ll see you both at The Canadian Championships! WE HOPE EVERYONE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME TESTING YOUR MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT! You embraced The Chase! and we want to say thank you to all Chasers, extraordinary volunteers, sponsors and partners! WITHOUT FURTHER ADO....LADIES AND GENTS.... THE RESULTS ARE IN! Are you ready for some Adventure? On May 29th, the City of Edmonton will turn into an urban playground featuring ChasePoint activities that will test teams with various physical, intellectual, adventurous and humourous challenges. During The Chase, you will try things that you have never done before, you will meet tons of great people, you will push your physical and intellectual limits, you will learn something new about the City of Edmonton, and you will have plenty of new stories to share. For 900 Chasers, there are two more days to prepare ... * Doing last minute stretching, * Brushing up their knowledge of local history and culture * Studying the transit system * Raising money for Right To Play * Preparing Chase-Day costumes * Working on your team dynamics Although preparation can be a good thing, always remember ... Expect the Unexpected! WEATHER FORECAST FOR SATURDAY MAY 29TH! Cloudy with sunny breaks 13 Degrees 30% Chance of Precipitation Interested in a coffee or a snack before the Warm-Up? ... Check out the Tim Hortons at Jasper Ave NW and 102 Ave. NW! IMPORTANT! * You will require photo I.D. as well as the signed waiver for both participants. You only need to hand in one copy per team, as there is a space on the waiver for both team members to sign. Waiver - click here * Only one member of your team needs to be present at the pre-event kit pick-up, but they MUST bring the waiver with both signatures on it. We don`t want to have to turn you away, so please remember to follow this instruction! * You will receive your team shirts, bib numbers, and transit passes. The other non-race related goodies will be provided once you cross the finish line! * Please ensure that your team information is accurate on the event manifest - team name and both participant names. ITEMS THAT MIGHT BE OF VALUE DURING THE EVENT: * I.D.: for use at registration, post-party, etc. * Cell Phone (better yet a BlackBerry): This could come in handy for so many reasons - bring one if you can * Hydration: Nestea will be provided at the Start/Finish area and at two locations on course. Aside from that, be sure to come prepared to be self sufficient. * A Snack: You might want pack a little something so that you can eat on the run! * City Map * Paper and Pen * Extra warm, dry, clean clothes (you never know) HINT: A hint will be revealed on Friday evening. In 2009, over 20,000 participants "Chased" in The World`s Largest Adventure Series and once again, City Chase was the recipient of `Canada`s Best Sporting Event` award (2005 - 2009). Course designers spent the winter focusing on one question ... How do we take `expect the unexpected` to a whole new level? Well, we obviously can`t share the outcome with you just yet, but you won`t be disappointed! In addition to the new twists and turns, we have compiled another great line up of prizes, including, of course, the opportunity to represent Edmonton at the Canadian Championships. Pre-Event Kit Pick-up: Avoid the line-up on the morning of the event, by checking in early. Date: Thursday May 27th Timing: 4:30pm to 8pm Location: Running Room - 109th Street location IMPORTANT! • You will require photo I.D. as well as the signed waiver for both participants. Edmonton Transit: Edmonton Transit`s fleet encompasses over 1,000 buses, and 40 community buses. The system covers more than 170 routes, including a LRT system with 57 vehicles and 13 stations. On a typical day, ETS carries about 16% of Edmonton`s population. Those of you who have `Chased` before know the value of understanding the vast offerings of the Transit System. Our recommendation is to park near the after party location @ The Pint Public House and enjoy the ride down on Edmonton Transit to Louis McKinney Park. Shuttles will run from 2:00pm until 5:30pm to The Pint (after party) from Louis McKinney Park. 2010 Canadian Championships: The winner of the Edmonton event will go on to compete in The Canadian Championships, which will be held in a secret location. The Canadian Championships will be an epic adventure that will take participants out of their comfort zone and truly test their resourcefulness in unfamiliar territory.
