CHASEPOINT #18 – A Means To The End…
Location: Fishing Docks – Quidi Vidi
Timing: Saturday September 6, 2008 – First team left at: 1:45pm
Description: After a 2km run to the town of Quidi Vidi, teams had to make their way around the harbour to the marked dock. Once checked in, and equipped with the necessary safety gear, teams were presented with a tandem kayak.
Before going to far, they first needed to solve the combination to a lock box containing their next clue. The digits for the combination could be found on a series of buoys in the harbour. Teams would need to find the numbers associated with their coloured lock, and then put them in the correct sequence to open the lock.
A means to an end… inside the box was a map that overviewed the push to the finish.
The first task was to complete a spectacular 7 km open ocean paddle that would take them around Signal Hill, through the Narrows, and into the St. John's Harbour.
