CHASEPOINT #8 – Means to the an End – “IF”
Location: George Street – Sundance Bar
Timing: Friday September 5, 2008 – 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Description:
Just when they thought they were done, another curve ball was thrown at the participants.
Upon arrival at Sundance Bar the host of City Chase, Nick Jelinek, greeted teams, with one last task to complete before taking their first sip of a nice cold Molson Canadian.
At the traditional Champions Dinner, the night before, teams had heard a poem called “IF” that embodies the philosophy of City Chase as it relates to filling every minute with 60 seconds of activity, and keeping one's head when stressed and challenged. There task was now to source, memorize, and recite “IF” to Nick before their time would stop marking the end of day 1.
To add to the pressure of this ChasePoint, teams were told that the last team to complete this ChasePoint will be eliminated.
Although Team Ottawa and Team Montreal both completed the Barbeque Challenge at the same time, Team Ottawa proved to be more resourceful with the shopping component and was the first to arrive at Sundance. Although Team Montreal looked to be catching up in their preparation of the poem, Michael and Brian managed to find the words in their performance and finish Day 1 in seventh place. Team Montreal was Eliminated.
