The St. John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) - is responsible for providing the Region with fire and emergency protection in the most economical manner. Services provided to the public include, but are not limited to Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention, Medical Response, Hazardous Materials Response, Special Teams Response (High Angle, Confined Space, Water Rescue and Helicopter Rescue), 911 Communication Services, and Emergency Medical Backup to Eastern Health upon request. The SJRFD coordinates and cooperates with other agencies, government departments, and other special groups for the effective delivery of emergency and educational services throughout the Region.
